CALABARZON police director, Chief Superintendent Gil C Meneses has reminded his provincial police directors that the PNP’s One –Strike Policy against illegal gambling is not exclusive only to jueteng and that they should go against all forms of illegal gambling, including “sugal-lupa”.
Meneses warned he will make it his personal policy to implement the ‘One Strike Policy” in response to the article written by columnist Bening Batuigas against the rampant activities of illegal gambling operators involved in “color games”, “drop balls” and other “sugal lupa” in CALABARZON.
Meneses directed all provincial Police Directors of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon to crackdown on the gambling operations in Imus, Dasmariñas City and Cavite City and General Mariano Alvarez in Cavite and in Angono, Cainta and Rodriguez in Rizal.Meneses also directed his commanders to strike hard at illegal gambling activities in all provinces and ordered to strictly account and monitor the compliances of chiefs-of-police of cities and municipalities regarding illegal gambling activities.
Meneses urged the public to immediately report to his office some persons who use his name or drop his name in their illegal activities especially in collecting payoffs on illegal gambling.Meneses further stressed that the PNP in CALABARZON will remain committed to the order of PNP Chief, Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome to hit hard on all forms of illegal gambling in the country especially in Region 4A where he is the former Regional Director.
