CAMP VICENTE LIM LAGUNA—------The suspect in the murder of a seven-year old boy and two house helpers in Silang, Cavite was arrested around midnight on Wednesday, the police said Thursday. Silang police chief Supt. Simnar Gran named the suspect as Jed Anthony Guanen, 20. Guanen was arrested at his relatives' home in Batasan, Quezon City in a police follow up operation.
At around 8 am Wednesday, house helper Rosky Piojo, 25; nanny identified only as a certain Joy from Antipolo City and her ward AJ Valentin were found dead inside their home in Barangay Bucal. Piojo's body was found in the laundry area while the two others inside the bedroom and were believed to be asleep when the incident happened. All victims suffered multiple stab wounds from an ice pick.
“There were two other house helpers who left at around 7 am for an errand. When they came back, they found the bodies,” Gran said in phone interview. Meanwhile, AJ's father Diodisio Valentin was in Nueva Ecija to attend to their farm. Gran said the suspect was identified as he was seen entering and leaving the house through a CCTV camera at the residence. He said the suspect fled on a public trasnsportation to reach Quezon City. The suspect stated to police that he was accused of stealing from his employer and was fired a few months ago.(Arlene P. Mariposque)
