Man Admits Rape, Murder of Teen after Four Years
Sta. Rosa Laguna—A man on Thursday turned himself in and admitted killing a 14-year-old girl, whose body he buried right below his apartment in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna four years ago.The suspect, Limuel Completo, 25, surrendered to police with his family around 5 am, city police chief Supt. Ismael Fernandez said.Completo was suspect in the 2007 murder of Mary Joy Umali, whose remains were only found last weekend in Barangay (village) Dita.
In a phone interview, Fernandez said Completo on Saturday talked to his mother and confessed to killing and raping Umali in May 2007. The suspect also admitted to putting the body in a sack and burying it three-feet deep under his home.
Sensing trouble with their son’s admission, the suspect’s family sought help from police and village authorities and on Sunday exhumed the remains, identified to be those of Umali.Umali, who was 14 years old when the crime was committed, was a neighbor of Completo. The girl’s family thought she left their home after being scolded, but “never thought she was already dead,” Fernandez said. In his statement to police, Completo said he was on his way home that evening in 2007 when he saw Umali on the street. He said he was high on drugs when he attacked the victim.
“After confiding to his mother, the suspect ran away and only returned this morning until his family finally convinced him to surrender,” Fernandez said.
Cellphone Store Robbed in Batangas

The victim identified as Nedecia Magssino Y Panaligan 40 years old, owner of Cellphone Store at Rizal St District II, Lemery Batangas was held up by two (2) unidentified suspects wearing black jacket with and armed with short firearm of unknown caliber, riding in colored red Zusuki Mola without plate number trycycle.
Suspects robbed the victim’s bag containing two hundred thousand pesos (Php 200,000.00), three (3) ATM (PSBANK, BDO, and RCBC), cellphones and other personal belongings and immediately fled toward the direction of Taal Batangas with the loot.
Continous follow- up operation is being conducted by members of Lemery Municipal Police Station for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
Man Dies after Setting House on Fire, Family of Four Hurt
A man was killed inside the burning house that he himself set on fire, leaving four members of a household seriously wounded in Dasmarińas City, Cavite, the police on Thursday said.The police identified the suspect as Milanio Aguire. According to city police chief Supt. Ulysses Cruz, in a phone interview, Aguire was seen carrying a container of gasoline when he entered the home of the Nacions in Barangay (village) San Dionisio on early Wednesday morning. “For no apparent reason, he set the house ablaze,” Cruz said.
The victims identified as Jose Nacion and children Jomar (age unknown); Nińa, 13; and Freza, 9, managed to get out of the burning house. The suspect was left trapped in the inferno.The victims sustained third degree burns and remained in the hospital in the city, while their home was heavily damaged from the fire. “We are still trying to find out how the suspect was related with the victims and how he was able to enter their home,” Cruz said.
