| CALAMBA CITY, July 17 - The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-4A) headed by Josefina Castilla-Go will spearhead the conduct of an activity dubbed as ‘Tapatan,’ a discussion on the full disclosure policy (FDP) in line with the national government’s call for transparency. The ‘Tapatan’ to be held on 26 July 2011 at the City Hall of Calamba aims to provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the full disclosure policy and highlights benefits and importance of public disclosure. This policy on transparency requires local government units (LGUs) full disclosure of their budgets and finances, bids and public offerings in conspicuous places within the concerned locality, government websites, newspapers of general circulation and others. |
According to Go, Secretary Jesse M. Robredo will be the guest of honor and keynote speaker in this endeavor noting FDP as its flagship program in achieving participation, accountability, responsiveness and transparency (PART) in governance .
“In this occasion, we will also award the Seal of Good Housekeeping to our qualified local government units,” Go added.
Moreover, the activity will also coincide with the launching of the full disclosure policy board of Calamba City and the business permit and licensing system (BPLS), a related undertaking dubbed as Search for Most Business Friendly LGUs, she said.
Issues and concerns related to FDP will be tackled and clarified during the said ‘Tapatan’ to be participated in by LGUs, civil society, media and government stakeholders. (CPG/NAC-PIA4A) // Arlene P. Mariposque
