The emergence of international drug syndicates operating in the country today poses great concern to the government especially the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Administrative Order No 279 issued on February 8, 2011 created Task Force Drug Courier, PDEA as the Chairman with Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) as co-chairman and eleven (11) government  agencies as members.

In keeping with the objective of the TFDC , PDEA CALABARZON in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency RO4A and Philippine National Police  RO4A as members of Task Force Drug Courier  implemented it’s communication and advocacy program with a working title “TALAKAYAN ON THE ANTI-DRUG MULE PROGRAM” in the provinces of Laguna, Quezon, Batangas, Cavite and Rizal for the whole month of June 2011.

In his report to PDEA Director General/Undersecretary JOSE S GUTIERREZ JR.,  Director III Emerson L Margate, Acting Regional Director of PDEA RO4A, the talakayan was participated by different media groups who will then disseminate the information to the public through newspapers and broadcast.

With the increasing number of Filipino drug couriers arrested here in our country and abroad, everyone must be well informed on the modus operandi of syndicates  and they should be aware on where to seek help in case they are being recruited to become one. // Arlene P. Mariposque
