CALAMBA CITY, Feb 13-- The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) of Perez, Quezon informed yesterday the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD-4A) operation center that six houses were reportedly washed out.
The following persons were reported missing: Nora Mustera, 48 and Jonathan Flores, 6 and Ynah Mustera while 18 died in flashflood that occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on February 12 due to continuous and density of rains poured at barangay Sangirin, Perez in Quezon province.
OCD4-A Regional Director Vicente Tomazar said affected were 18 families comprising of 89 persons wherein 39 were evacuated at barangay Sangirin day care center while the rest stayed with their relatives living in a safe place near the area.
He said that search and rescue operations for the two missing persons are being conducted by both members of the barangay Risaster Risk Reduction Committee and the MDRRMC teams.
The local social welfare development office and members of the response committee are now taking care of the evacuees in terms of their food and other needs. PIA// Arlene P. Mariposque
