FAILURE AND ANALYSIS ENGINEER 

Education Background and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in the areas of Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Material Science Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in failure analysis of analogue, and/or mixed signal IC devices.
• Practical experience in FA, and electrical fault isolation and defect characterization tools and techniques such as the following: Automated Test Equipment (ATE – Preferably LTX), curve trace, micro-probing, light emission microscopy, liquid crystal, CSAM, XRAY, Focused Ion Beam (FIB), SEM and de-processing techniques.
• Strong understanding of both digital and analogue circuits, device physics and IC fabrication processes.
• Excellent problem solving (must be familiar with the problem solving techniques being utilized in Semiconductor Industry such as 8D, FMEA, 5WHY etc.).
• Proficient to interpret ATE test datalogs, system level schematics, IC level schematics, and IC layout of CMOS and bipolar devices (need bipolar?)
• Good technical writing skill is required.

Areas of Responsibilities:

• Interface with Product Engineering, QA Assembly manufacturing, and design for various product quality related issues.
• Interface with QA Headquarters on the Physical and Electrical Failure Analysis issues.
• Circuit debugging at package-level, die level and also module level.
• Provide the technical capabilities to help customer solve technical problems in their factories.
• Conduct electrical and physical failure analysis or customer returns, identify the root cause of failure and respond with appropriate corrective actions.
• Technical customer support regarding failure analysis reports and miscellaneous correspondence as required by the customers.
• Support Field QA/Application engineers in timely manner.
• Works closely with the Product Reliability Team regarding qualification of new devices, new packages, changes in materials, and process flows.
• Support product reliability testing and qualification.
